Add Your URL to Directories for One-way (and two-way) Links
If you own a web site, web directories are invaluable to help boost your site's ranking with the search engines. Each listing you get into a directory acts as a 'vote' for your site and, with directories, often you can get one-way links, which are better votes for your site than recipricol links. However, you get what you give, so provide links back to the directories (recrical links) when you can.
